your April Photo Essay
Here are pictures galore of the Immigrants Rights March and Rally (May 1st), My Birthday party (April 28th) and the IDCE Spring Fling (April 21st). Enjoy.
People of all nations gathered on the steps of Worcester City Hall: Mexico, Brazil, Liberia, Vietnam, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, and others.
IDCE International Students supported the rally. I'm pictured here with my Nepali roomate Bishnu and my Turkish feminist friend Ipek.
Aww...Diego, a son of a Peruvian IDCE Professor, was forced into that lil' sombrero and made to dance in public. Some day he will want to kill us all.
Pre-Spring Fling partyin' with my roomates Leia, Lisa, Bishnu and I. Casey was in Oregon suffering the same panty-hose induced discomfort at a wedding.
Asian IDCE students, representin'. Madura is in the Geographical Information Sciences program and Jia and Preeti are in the Environmental Science and Policy program. This would make me an Asian imposter, as my degree doesn't have the word "SCIENCE" in it anywhere. Doh.
Ing, Kristie (who just got the Fulbright to go to China!!!), and Darin, some of my favorite 2nd year students. I think they were singing along with Whitney Houston.
Bear-hugging Jacob-pronounced-Yahkub made the night complete. In an uncharacteristically Jacob night, he closed out the dancefloor (at my b-day, too)!
Blowing out the candle on the giant b-day cookie Leia baked for me. It was so tasty it was almost wrong.
My birthday party: An Aerial View. People were dancing up a storm when--in a Palit Party nightmare moment--my reciever blew out and we had to replace the system AND the speakers. Noooooo!
