Summer in the City of Joy

A Happy Announcement:

My Department has funded me partially (but quite significantly) to go do my proposed M.A. thesis research in Calcutta over the summer. Woo-hoo! City of Joy, here I come...AGAIN! I'll be working with Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee, a sex workers' rights collective in the Sonagachi red light district. Those women are awesome, having built and sustained an influential movement for sex workers' rights.

Oh dear--that means having to pack for another international trip. I need my lil' sister. Holla, girl...
